Stillness in Motion: Aaron Decay Finds Balance in “Equinox”
With Equinox, Aaron Decay delivers a meditative piece of melodic house that feels like a deep breath in the middle of chaos.
Entirely instrumental, the track is inspired by a few days spent in the mountains, away from the noise, immersed in nature.
“It was a moment of clarity,” he says, “and I wanted to translate that sensation of calm and reconnection into music.”
The track opens with a delicate piano motif, crafted using Serum 2, that serves as the emotional foundation. Slowly, melodic synths and subtle percussions unfold, creating a fluid dialogue that culminates in a powerful yet gentle release.
“My favorite part is when the synths start to dance with the piano,” Aaron notes. “It’s like a silent conversation, where everything that needed to be said is finally expressed.”

Influenced by artists like Kiasmos and Nils Frahm, Equinox finds its strength in restraint. Nothing feels rushed, and the mix breathes.
“The hardest part was letting the music speak without overloading it,” he explains. “I learned to give more space to silence.”
Equinox invites the listener to pause, reflect, and reconnect—not just with music, but with the world around them.
“I hope this track gives people a sense of stillness, even if just for a moment,” Aaron says.
